DOCS+ The Battle For Laikipia
As drought in the Kenyan savanna intensifies, descendants of British settlers and indigenous nomadic pastoralists each fight for home. The Battle for Laikipia is a deeply personal story of post-colonial East Africa in the era of climate change.
Handsomely photographed and shrewdly edited, it captures both the mounting tension among the people and the arresting drama of the landscape.
“It’s a sober and balanced piece of film-making that allows both sides to voice their positions while acknowledging that there is no easy resolution for the situation.” The Guardian.
