Job Description:
Oundle School is seeking a Database & Information Systems Administrator to provide support for all users of the school’s administrative and academic databases. They will maintain all aspects of the databases and advise on the effectiveness of the school’s data usage.
The Role
The role of Database and Information Systems Administrator will suit someone who has in-depth knowledge and experience of the iSAMS management information system, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Administration, and excellent interpersonal skills. They will enjoy working in a friendly, supportive team, and being part of the life of our School.
There will be the opportunity to assist the Head of IT & Information Management in the future development of the use of data, to provide reports to aid decision-making, and liaise with external database suppliers/support organisations.
Key tasks include the provision of help-desk support regarding the use of the School’s key administrative and academic databases, including the maintenance of appropriate access rights. Within iSAMS the role provides support and expertise for Exam results, Pupil Reports and Billing. The role also assists in ensuring that data is handled in compliance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and acts as the contact point for the School with MHR for the HR & Payroll system.
The School makes use of commercial SAAS applications but still maintains an inhouse SQL Instance for data warehousing, and the successful applicant will be the Administrator for this, including standard administration, backup, recovery and tuning.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Salary: £38,000 -£44,000 (Dependent on experience)
