Our Catering Department have a new and exciting opportunity for a dedicated, hardworking Head Chef to join their team.

The Role
The Head Chef is responsible for the successful production of healthy, balanced food to pupils, staff, and visitors at all services, within pre- determined budgetary levels. The Head Chef role focuses on food production and kitchen management with responsibility for the multiple dining rooms/outlets and some hospitality.

Working within the Catering team, the role holder will report to the Senior Head Chef, and is responsible for Chefs, with day to day responsibility for, Kitchen Porters and Pot Wash. For the right candidate this role will offer variety, diversity, and plenty of development opportunities. Hours
Hours of work: 80 hours over a 2-week rota, working either early or late shifts. Working alternative weekends.

Working Weeks: 41.4 working weeks per annum, paid for 46.4 weeks to include annual leave entitlement.

Salary: £29,251 pro-rata per annum, (£32,781 FTE)

The School
Oundle and Laxton Junior Schools have long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding. The town has a spirited cultural life, with an annual international festival, literature festival, and frequent performances of nationally touring shows at the School’s Stahl Theatre.

Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have been awarded at least NVQ level 2 in Food Preparation, Food Safety and Allergen Awareness and have an awareness of health and safety regulations. You will need to demonstrate previous experience working as a chef, have a proven track record in providing quality food and be willingness to learn and adapt, with a focus on continuous development. A positive, flexibly attitude with the ability to prioritise and organise workloads is imperative.
