Operations Manager (30 hours per week – £30k FTE)

Who we are

Volunteer Action are a community minded charity that supports volunteers to improve the lives of local people in need. We provide a Community Car Scheme and Befriending Service to our members who reside within East Northants North (from Easton-on-the-Hill in the north to Thrapston in the south, Brigstock in the West to Lutton in the East). We provide our services to around 50 parishes and our offices are based in the market town of Oundle.

What we do

We support people in the community aged 65+ and those who are registered disabled with mobility issues to maintain their independence to lead a healthy life, with dignity, for as long as possible. Our volunteers drive members to appointments to maintain their health and wellbeing, from Hospitals to Hairdressers and much more, whilst providing companionship on the journey. Passenger journeys are subsidised by the charity to help tackle poverty and provide a fairly priced service regardless of how rurally they live within the county. The volunteers within our Befriending team provide a range of friendship options that include face-to-face, telephone and group meet ups. All of which offer companionship and an understanding ear, to help combat and reduce rural isolation and connect communities.

If you are Interested in this role, the criteria are:

General Operations Management experience (desired), Strong communication skills, an understanding of budgetary management to support the development of the charity. Confidence in using software packages such as the Microsoft suite. Ability to use social media for promotion and marketing and a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
